Spacerpunk: with oracle driven content, characters, and resolution

April 7th, 2009

Made progress on this: spacerpunk, in the form of index cards and oracles.

There’s some quick summary of the world up there, but what I think is interesting is oracle-like resolution of conflicts in the system. Combat have a set of possible results (depending on the kind of combat). Outside of a fight, characters are a combination of a Role and a Trait; the Role gives you an ability which allows you to roll on the your Trait to create an outcome for the obstacle you’re trying to resolve.

I feel like this gets my intentions across, and could work for pickup play. It also could possibly be used alongside a more finely detailed system, if that’s what a group wants.
