About FGJ Games

I play games, and I occaisionally design a few. Games are great social activities. I find that when you any mix a set of rules into a rich social dynamic, very interesting things happen.

FGJ Games is my label for collecting the games I’m working on
and the games I’ve completed.

Why “impatient game design”? Because I think game rules can always be made better, giving the players the maximum empowerment and fun with a minimum of barriers from complexity and time. Not all games should to be impatient, but the ones I write tend to be.

I work primarily on storygames and other “acoustic” games, like board games and social games. I also am interested in digital games, but I figure that similar principles apply in both realms.
